Solingen Rapier
This CAS/Hanwei rapier exhibits the "blade-catcher" style of quillons used throughout northern Europe. This version is of "bright" steel. It has a stainless steel hilt for reduced maintenance and a high-carbon steel flex-termpered blade. During the Renaissance swordplay was considered an essential part of a gentleman's education and was often used in resolving gentlemanly disagreements. The overall length of the Solingen Rapier is 45-1/4" and the blade is 36-5/8" with a weight of 2lbs. 5 oz. It accepts the Practical sparring blade which is utlized for safety. |
